  1. Tldr is a fair, personal choice. I chose to elaborate on my ideas because that was my personal choice and I wanted to explain the thinking behind my comments. If that's not your cup of tea...don't read it. But calling me names and hurling personal insults at me is childish and very inappropriate. This is the type of shit that discourages genuine participation. I shouldn't be subject to this because you think my post was too long.
  2. Also, I love the ideas about the more consistent stream and broadcast. I'm a serious broadcaster with a family background in cable tv. I'd love to help, especially making scheduled streams of shows that Jay will not be streaming. Also, we have a lot of people who would help with commentary. I think even adding it to two or three of the featured matches on a show (if we can't do the whole card) would go a long way. We could keep our feature team on the ME and let some of us other folks take a shot at undercard matches. Yes, change is rarely easy, but man we could pull off a lot of this stuff.
  3. Just to clarify by booked promos I don't mean guided or scripted in any way. I just mean booked as in scheduled. My thinking was this. Right now everyone is invited to submit content. So if everyone does, we know what happens. By booking promos like we book matches I just mean that for instance this week in my match C.Q.C. vs. The Heartbreakers when I go to read the card it would also say Promo: The Heartbreakers. We would know we have to do the match and submit some content....C.Q.C. only has to worry about the match (they can submit additional content if they want, knowing it will fill if someone flakes, or end up in the promo room). But basically you would end up promoing for half of your matches instead of all of them. You could be just as creative, heck, even more because you wouldn't be doing them as frequently. This is also where smart booking comes in. We know we get good shit from our top guys. So who get asked to do a promo could be a mix of featuring the main events, making sure the mid card is represented and favoring giving newer or less experienced talent some of the promo time on the lower card. We might get an average closer to 1:1 matches to promos (especially if a couple matches that have been building we just let them have their match). Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't suggesting scripted or restricted promos. Maybe scheduled would have been the better word. My main point was that with a little planning, we could reduce the amount of excess content, still make sure everyone gets plenty of opportunities to present segments, and actually bring our product more in line with the real thing anyway. When do you really see two interviews and a 20 min match devoted to lower card stuff...almost never. But again, lovin' the discussion. Thanks a lot, Cort.
  4. I still think the comments thing is not ideal. There are a lot of little quirks about the way OCW works or the information flow is designed that are just not optimal in the current culture of the way people consume information. When we go to watch something, If we see that there are comments below, we look to those comments to establish the tone of the conversation about the content. Most people (ie. not the locker room) would not "guess" that oh...they must just do this to avoid spoilers, I'll skip ahead to page 3. A lot of people will just look at it, assume that that's the tone of the comments about the show...and move on to something else. Which is actually what I almost did when first trying to check out an OCW show. I was horrified when I realized I would have missed the really substantive reviews had I done that. But again, it really comes down to who are audience is and what our goals are. I see a product that can grow a lot and have a lot of fans outside of the locker room. To me, we need to be serious about removing barriers to that kind of participation. Part of it, is making the design a little more contemporary. I get that OCW is a glorified ghetto universe (jay's words...kinda) but I honestly believe the quality of the product has outgrown that. I know I'm new here. But I think that's valuable. I still have that outsider's fresh perspective and I haven't yet lost the memory of how perplexing this place was to me when I first showed up and how much asking around and digging was necessary to find basic things. Simple solutions to this type of problem is putting the reviews for the shows in a different part of the forum than the show itself and then posting a reminder of such that includes a warning like "reviews for this show should be posted in the show review forum- please do not post spoilers on the show page". -One of the overall things I hear a lot around OCW is basically I'll have some feedback about something I think can be improved a little bit and the response I often get is some version of "well, you don't understand why it works that way." While I really do appreciate the real interaction and I certainly on personal level really appreciate people showing me the ropes, I'd encourage us to think a little beyond that. Of course there's a history as to why things are the way they are and of course there's a reason they work the way they do. That doesn't diminish the nature of the problems with the design if those concerns are relevant. We want to present our product in the best light. We're the only people who can ensure that we're doing so. If potential talent, fans, or anyone else who would like to be involved in OCW is discouraged from doing so because of these type of design challenges, we're just missing out on opportunity. The public doesn't owe us to be understanding of why certain things are a mess. They can just show up, be like "it looks like this website was designed 20 years ago"...and move on to something else. Why not tweak things a bit to just avoid that type of thing altogether? -About the length, I can try watching some stuff at 2x speed, but that wouldn't really work very well for broadcasting the shows. I know a lot of people will disagree with my feelings about the length of the show. But I feel pretty strongly about it, so I think it's worth discussing. I think again it comes back to who is the audience? I think a lot of people will kind of disagree with me about the answer to that question. When I first joined OCW I was really excited about being in an e-fed that seemed big enough that it had real fans. As in people who are not wrestlers, alumni, or staff, but just enjoy what OCW puts out as some really good ass wrestling product, that just happens to be based in a video game. Great matches, great storytelling, and the talent actually mostly controls the creative. Now I don't really know what the size of OCW's audience is and how much of it is people who aren't in some way a part of it. But I still see it as a viable product that a lot of wrestling fans would be into. A lot of my feedback is based on that belief and trying to grow that audience. The truth may be much closer to the locker room, alumni, and staff are most of the audience and that may or may not always be the case. Some people will even disagree about whether or not having a wider audience is even feasible or desirable. Anyway, it's relevant. Because if you think of "us" (wrestlers, staff, etc.) as the audience then we have a much different threshold for how much OCW content we can consume then the average consumer would. I would add that I think a lot of the talent has a hard time keeping up with the amount of content put out and that's kind of alarming. But I really feel if a lot of you are like me and you think that OCW has at least the POTENTIAL to have a large audience outside of its locker room we should be asking questions about what's a reasonable expectation of the average fan as opposed to the locker room. But I love the show. I love the content. I'm not trying to stifle anyone's creativity. I just think it'd be nice to shave it down to more consumable units. I'm really inspired a lot by esports and the broadcast industry built around competitive gaming and roleplaying. I came into this fed asking myself a simple question, "Why not us?". A lot of that growth really depended on packaging the content in ways that make it easier to follow and broadcast. We all know RAW is too long and WWE is criticized for putting out too much content. We also all know the outcome, the audience that watches "all of it" or even "most of it" is very small relative to the audience that watches the really big shit and a great deal of content just goes largely unwatched altogether. I believe A LOT of people would dedicate a few hours a week to following OCWfed in addition to whatever gaming or wrestling content is important to them...but not 10 or more hours of it. When we start SUGGESTING that you fast forward through large portions of the show...that speaks volumes. Also, digesting the show in parts or wharever works, but again, what else do you watch in parts??? Probably very little, compared to what you enjoy watching in one sitting. Again, we're THE MOST DEDICATED segment of the audience, we'd do well to keep that in mind. -Anyway, seriously thank you so much for engaging me and providing real dialogue based on my review. I decided to post my additional thoughts here, as opposed to hitting you in a PM so that anyone else in the community can see our exchange. I love getting into these real discussions about the product. Whether we agree about everything or not, this is fun.
  5. Turmoil 220 Review Feb-1-2019 episode Sorry for the late review. It's been a very hectic week or so for me. I don't want to be accused to just giving superficial feedback so let me get into some things straightaway that I'm sure will come up in my reviews in the future. -It'd be great if we stopped replying to shows with the “first”... “second”... or really any other replies that aren't directly related to the show. It just feels beneath the product and makes it harder to get to the real substantive feedback. -The shows are too long. I don't think there's any way around it. It just takes entirely TOO LONG to get through an OCW show. If most people were really required to give feedback on every show the board would be a whole lot of “TLDR”. I know this isn't an easy challenge to address. There are issues with deadlines, making sure there's enough content, making sure everyone has a chance to have segments, etc... but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to do better. I think a lot of the issue feels like having everyone trying to submit content for the show. So if both people submit segments and you have the match you end up with 3 segments per matchup, plus all of the stuff unrelated to the current card. I just think it'd be great if maybe we booked promos like we book matches. Maybe invite one side of each contest (from the main matches, and one or two total from the undercard) to submit a promo and maybe the other side can submit some commentary suggestions that can be used to bring the audience up to speed on a particular storyline before the match or before a segment. Maybe we can package a bunch of segments together and put them on a pre-show or post-show for additional content. But again, something like that isn't really reducing the amount of content, it's just shifting it elsewhere. The bottom line for me is this, we want more people to follow OCW so the product can grow. We have to start making tough choices to make the product more consumable. I have talked some other OCW talent about this. I know I'm not the only person who feels this way. If we made the product easier to watch, we'd also get more engagement and the real feeling that more of the core of the audience was really trying to stay up on everything. Right now, that's a tough ask for all except the most dedicated. Part of my perspective comes from trying to broadcast these shows in one sitting. It's really tough to do. An OCW show shouldn't be an endurance test. Also, by the time I've seen two or three segments on the same show about one storyline it feels watered down. And that sucks, because some of the really creative stuff people do just doesn't have the same impact it would otherwise and I believe it also takes some the energy out of the viewer when watching matches. There's just so much to get through. It's tough to be invested in all of it. I'm sure this will come up again. -I'm not a huge fan of the music during matches. People's tastes are just too different. To me there's a really high risk, almost no matter what you choose, that some people will just find it distracting. I spend a lot of time analyzing the production presentation of pro wrestling and other combat sports. It's a really common practice in pro Muay Thai promotions and it drives me crazy almost every time. I'm learning to live with it. I'll probably never be a fan of that production choice. -The commentators add a tremendous value to the storytelling in OCW and the presentation of the matches themselves. To be transparent, yes, I want to do commentary for OCW matches and I have been talking to some staff about it. But regardless of that, I would feel the same way. I know it's not the easiest thing to get done due to the turnaround between the submission deadline and the show, but more commentary would be great. There's a bunch of people in OCW who could do a good job at it. It not only makes the show more professional, it really helps the audience feel like you can follow along with the narrative. It also let's us get a peak and some of the personality and passion behind the show (which we only see game content and text). The commentary helps humanize the show and really sell that it's somehow MORE than just an e-fed based on a game, it feels like a real wrestling show that I'm reminded people make. Opening segment (B17, Wrex, Trance, Jackman): -This felt like a really classic approach to setting up the kind of tag match featured in the main event. They kind of got in and out the history and beef with each other really nicely. B17 did a really nice job of establishing the narrative and everyone else delivered at that same level. It was very efficient. I enjoyed it a great deal. Empress vs Blaine: -It was great to see Empress in action! Very excited about having her on the roster. Blaine looked really great. I enjoyed seeing Empress put up a real fight right at the end there before the finish. It made for a nice little climax to there match. Leroi Daniels segment: -Glad to see my man Leroi Daniels on the show!! I love what he was trying to do with this segment. I think using personal issues to explain some time away tells a nice story and raises some questions he can really follow up on later so we can establish a deeper connection with the character. I like the social media bit here. That type of “let the fans book it” rarely works, but for a real babyface like Leroi it's actually a nice way for him to sell that he's really willing to take on anyone. The four-way tie was a bit hard to buy, but it's a wrestling show so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I also like that he found a way to remind us of his history to this point. I would suggest losing the extra characters in the formatting as it just caused inconsistency with the style of the show. Also, I'd recommend staying away from expressions like “the camera would pan” in favor of “the camera pans”. Again, just better for consistency of presentation style. Keep up the good work. Belle vs Karissa Dawson: -I enjoy watching both of these women. This was a solid match. I liked the contrast in styles. That made it really easy to get into the competition. This was well booked. C.Q.C. Segment: -I liked this segment. It was short and sweet, but fun...and then it continued. It helps put over the match. Thanks, fellas. But y'all don't want it in a singing contest with The Heartbreakers...js. Good work. T.Y. Sparks v. Mistico: -My boy T.Y. Sparks picking up the big win! Mistico is awesome for giving him a really good match. Damian and Mistico are so good together. Damian really played a role without directly interfering. I love the way he sold going for the save at the end. I could go on, but I won't. I was really into this. Blaine vs. Dragana segment 1: -I don't even know what to say. This is really, really good. I really enjoy these segments. This is definitely one of my favorite stories on the show right now. C.Q.C. vs. The Heartbreakers: -I'm really grateful to C.Q.C. for working with us. I do feel like I should respond to some of the feedback so that people don't think I'm ignoring them. The Superkick thing is something that Asher and I really bonded over when we first started playing the game together and decided to become a tag team (we're fans of the bucks and literally had matching HBK attires, mine said “call me up, Jay” and his said, “sign me, Jay”.... the first time we met...AWESOME coincidence). It fits us and is really part of our gimmick as far as how we play the game together. At one point, I took the superkick out of my moveset because I heard about how turmoil was the land of superkicks and everyone was sick of them or whatever. But once Asher and I got booked as a team I wanted to put the superkick back in my moveset because again, we have A LOT of fun with them. I was also advised that I should have a couple of moves in my moveset that keep my opponent standing as I noticed in other movesets. I really just wanted to make a superkick combo. I lucked out when I found one that keeps a person standing up. Keith is trying to hit that one three times and then hit the one that actually knocks the person the down for a four strike combination. I don't normally hit the full combo on a person more than once in a match, but like any part of a wrestler's signature offense, if it's interrupted or he doesn't get all of it, he's going to try to get all of it later. It is cheesy, but it's a legit part of the story he's trying to tell in the ring. Also, all of his strikes are kicks (other than a slap) and his attributes are set accordingly. Those kicks really hurt, they're supposed to. Asher has different superkicks (the kneeling one, a different standing one that knocks an opponent down, and he often uses a running one as a finisher in Dms) and we always sing SUPERKICK PARTY!!...because it's fun and we're wrestling fans #don'tcrushmydreams. Also, as a handler, I appreciate the heads up about its past use, but Keith's character is by nature aloof and irreverent and wouldn't really even acknowledge that. As far as the hovering thing goes, I feel really bad about that. For the record, we offered to redo the match, our opponents declined. At the time I was responding to “cat and mouse” being called out in the party. If you check it out, there's a similar sequence a little bit before that one and I hit him right as he stood up and could make a move on me and no one said anything. Also, if we're going to say that “cat and mouse” isn't in the handbook, neither is anything explicit about this sliding in the ring thing. The handbook says, “Do not hover, after a move give some space, to reset then re-engage.” If you watch it, no one had hit a move and even after he slides out and I think he's trying to avoid my finisher I step back to let him slide in the ring, I start walking over towards him, and I hit him after he stands up. I won't do it again. But I really wasn't trying to violate FPR. But being a heel, I decided to go with it after they said they didn't want to redo the match. But I want to apologize nevertheless. I also want to thank C.Q.C. They were really cool about it and actually very encouraging to us after the match. I'd love to work with them again. Setting all that aside, I thought this was a great match. Reading it and watching in on the show- I really think it felt significant because of the combined effects of all the segments around it, including the T.Y. Sparks vs. Mistico match and the really great C.Q.C. Segments earlier in the show. Bubba segment: -Huh?? I think this went over my head. But it was cute. Bray: -You know that one sister that keeps stealing all your clothes. You go to get ready for a date and you're like, “Where did my sunglasses go.” Come to find out...she got 'em. Then you be about to hit the club one night, “Damn, where did my earrings go.” Then when you get to the club she struttin' around...yep, in yo' earrings. I'll just leave it at that as far as his style goes. But the promo was good. I wish he did more with the rumble win. Like when he first came out of it with the belt and stuff I was like okay, here we go. I'd like to see him do a little more with that. Maybe he can find a way to tie it into his feuds. Dragana vs Elsa: -Solid match. I liked the little handshake at the end. B17, Austin Aeries segment: -This was solid. Alyssa Winters, Terra, et al.: -I agree with the others. It was nice to see a lot of quality women's division work. This segment sort of embodies that. It's got a lot of really good character work and we're peeling back the layers of the plot lines, nice job. This was really well written. I enjoyed the little visual details. Dragana vs Blaine finale: -This was a really fun finish. I was really looking to see who won. Good shit. Austin Aeries vs OtaKRU: -I enjoyed this match. Justin Jehst v. Capo segment: -It was good to see Capo on the show. Nothing like a good ole' fight backstage to garner interest in a beef. Ashley Moore: -I like the character work in this segment. Cort segment: -This was a fun excursion for a shady doctor's note. Well done. Main event: Wrex & Jacob Trance vs Code Jackman and B-17: This main event was awesome. The commentary was great. The in-ring work was awesome. The kick outs were wonderful. The ending was really great. Who cares if it was worked or not? Can't we just have nice things? Final segment: -This was funky freshness. Really great writing. Quality work by everyone. This is such a fun fed to be a part of. I'm always impressed by the consistency in quality from segment-to-segment and match-to-match. Go team.
  6. OCW Riot 520 Review Jan-22-2019 Opening Cort segment -Humorous, I thought it was a great little, cheeky character segment. Way to kick off the show. The Clash promo -Really nice graphic work. I enjoyed this a lot, visually. Kinda creepy, but I'm into it. Everett segment -I really enjoyed this. It was a nice to get the inspirational stuff wrapped up with a little humor. Mistico vs. Telos -I really liked this match. The contrast in styles made it a great first match in the ring. The match was quality. Ashley Moore segment -Short and sweet. Really good dialogue for Ashley and helps reinforce the sometimes irrational universal affection for Valkyrie. Reminds me very much of the Bayley effect. Cobra segment -Felt pretty meta. I enjoy the little playful segments that get us to the different parts of the arena, etc. This type of promo helps a show fill out nicely. Pugh segment -I really, really liked this. This is a great example of doing some character work, having a bit of fun, but then tying it all up into a story...about WRESTLING and what matters most (i.e. the title). Throw the personal issues in there... money. It really isn't that complicated of a formula, it just nice to see it all in one place. Telos segment -Great continuity rp. I love the dynamic between wrestler and manager. Solid piece. MAXWALE v Buddy Burns Twitter beef. -This is the type of segment that makes OCW a really unique and special place. I love what was done here. OCW Ambition Green vs Everett package -I'm very glad they did this. It looks great. I'm excited about that match now. TTT promo -This was just phenomenal. Funny shit. Coolidge vs Doc Green -I enjoyed watching this match. Tayy segment -This was a really well written promo. Bobby Minio segment -Bobby Minio is a trip. This was fun. Kassidy segment -Great sequencing following the Minio segment. It really showed Kassidy's character, but got straight to the matter at hand as far as the title picture is concerned. Dragana and Blaine segment -I enjoy the series of contests between these two. Looking forward to more. CQC segment -This felt like it dragged a bit, especially after four previous segments between the last match and this promo. It also felt a bit like alphabet soup. Without really understanding all of the history, this promo was hard to get into. It would be good it we wrote things for the audience that knows, but introduced things gently for the audience that doesn't. If you notice in a well-written tv promo on a wrestling show, the promo always includes just enough recap so that if you don't know the entire backstory (aka haven't watched in awhile or are new to the show) you won't be lost. This is always a tough balance to strike. Sometimes it's just a matter of making sure every time you introduce a new (new, being first time used in that promo) acronym you spell it out or say who's in it the first time, even if you assume everyone in the audience already knows. So every promo should say “Platinum Platonic Partners” (even if it's just in the description, but not the dialogue) at some point before “P3” is used. Otherwise, you risk losing newer viewers. Listen to the commentary for the main event during the entrances for an example. Overall, the segment was good. I liked all of the character work. Dialogue was fine. But after the previous segments, it felt like too much. Tayy Briezee vs Shepherd -This was a fun match. I really thought it was fun to watch and call. Mugen promo -I wasn't crazy about this. It felt like it was going somewhere, but I never quite got there. I think it needed a bit more direct language targeted at the opponent. Post-Briezee vs Shepherd fallout -This was cool. It felt like really good wrestling television. I really enjoyed the connected chaos. Elsa & Ace vs. Valkyrie & Moore -I enjoyed this tag match. The segment earlier got me excited about it. The match delivered. I was actually surprised by the finish. Good shit. Aisu promo -Good promo, but just felt like too much of certain cast members on this show. Cobra vs Pugh -This was a good match. I really liked the strategy involved. Pugh looked like he really used some environmental awareness and experience to pull this out. The Last Blacksmith promo -I'm into the match. I'm into the challenge and the callout. It felt like there were a few typos. But I'm happy about where this is going. Ashley Moore promo -This was a really good segment. I love the thread from the match earlier and I can see the tension between these two coming to a head. Golden's scene -Nice little training promo, a little typical but I'd like to see where he goes with it. 2nd Buddy B vs MAXWALE twitter: -I liked this, not as much as the first one though. I don't see why we'd go back to another segment from these two on the same show. I get that it's trying to be a continuation from the previous segment, but with all of the other repetition on the show it just felt forced. H20 promo: -I really like this promo. There was a bit of insider baseball, OCW stuff that I'm not sure translates as easily as we'd like it too. It wasn't too much, though, and it wasn't difficult to follow the promo. It was well written with good dialogue. Main event: P3 vs TTT -This was a great main event match. It felt really big. It was set up by segments earlier in the night. The commentary was spot on. It actually did a much better job with the alphabet soup than the earlier promos. Last segment- Valk -I really enjoyed this promo thoroughly...so many question. Overall: -This show was pretty good. I enjoyed most of the segments and matches. But to be honest, these shows feel too long. Sometimes it feels like we are forcing too many segments into one card. I know it's good to have both people in a match rp and maybe have one before the match and one after. But honestly, it felt like a lot of these segments could have been cut and saved for another card. I think if the shows were a bit lighter, they'd be easier to follow and we'd get more engagement. Also, talent would probably step up the quality even more, if we were asked to do a bit less. I know, I'm new around here. But it feels like we are in that WWE zone where we are putting out so much content it's really hard to stay on top of all of it, while still putting out a lot and trying to have fun. I say this with a mind to how long it takes me to do live read/watch alongs on my channel. They have made me aware of just how long it takes to get through a show.
  7. Here's my review: I made these notes while live streaming a read/watch along. I hope to provide more thorough notes in the future. OCW Turmoil 218 Review Jan-18-2019 Episode Opening: Ashley Moore - I really enjoyed the character work. I loved the dialogue and the scene details. I was left wanting more as opposed to wishing it would end already. Good work. The Arrival (Empress) -Loved it. I know someone commented about using Corey Graves's voice. That didn't really bother me, tbh. We could always pretend that's the voice of someone else. Great job, more please. Valkyrie vs Belle -Just, yes. Valk! Valk! Valk! I loved the segment at the end. Jackman promo -Short and sweet. Really helps the show have a nice rhythm. This promo did well to keep their plot moving forward. It's also nice to have the C-Community segment directly followed by The Experience. I liked this. B17 vs Keith Hendrix -(My match) I loved that this match felt like something genuinely unexpected happened. I like the draw to setup something down the road and it sets up nicely for the story The Experience is trying to tell. I'm really thankful to B17 for working with me and for taking the time to add the perfect additional segment and get everything submitted, despite having a very rough day. I appreciate it. Stephanie Bank (The Experience) promo: -I wrote this. From the reactions I have read, I'm happy about the feedback. The purpose of this promo is really to introduce Stephanie Bank, one of The Experience's cast of auxiliary characters. The early promos are really designed to create intrigue about The Experience and plant the seeds of unanswered questions. CQC promo -I thought this was super fun, reminds me of an Edge and Christian-type thing. Can't wait to work with these guys. This was quality. Empress promo 2 -This was great, I really enjoyed it. I love the images, they really sold it. I like the dialogue. CQC promo 2 -Very good, built nicely off the previous segment. Loki vs Rust Cohle ** -This was an awesome match...really good shit. The segment at the end just took it up a notch. I could watch on loop for a bit. Terra, Jehst, & Elsa promo -I really enjoyed this. I thought everyone was well represented. Alyssa Winters' promo -This was a pretty cool promo. Gotta get me one of them gamer dream girls... or two. Jacob Trance and Wrex promo -Nice entrances. Awesome exchange. I'd buy tickets to see this now IRL. Great ending. Really cool shit. Get over, boys. Aries and #Austin -Good promo. I enjoyed the dynamic between the two. Bourne promo -So many questions, so many questions. Good shit. Jay Fury vs. The Anime Prince -I liked this match a lot. Good contrast in styles. Great entrances. This was fun. The Anime Prince vs. The Outlaw Prince was mentioned...that would be fun. Austin Lee vs Damian Bourne -This was all very entertaining. Valkyrie and Belle segment -Nice follow up to what happened earlier. I would like to see where their relationship goes. PSA from the C-Community -Yeah, you guys are weird alright. But no for real, this was very cool. I'm looking for more from the C- Community. Man, I appreciate all of the production that went into this segment. Let's get it. Bourne vs. Thrace -Let them fight! Let them fight! Let them fight! I really liked this. Else and Jehst segment -Loved it. Matteo vs Code Jackman -This match was really good. Again, it had a great contrast of in-ring styles and a sort of high-risk offense vs great defensive awareness back and forth. Very easy story to tell. I enjoyed the bit in the middle and the bit at the end even more. Dragana promo -This was a fun little character builder. I enjoyed it and it made me buy into the rivalry. Valkyrie segment -Valkyrie promos are the reason I joined OCW. Valkyrie promos alone would keep me here. Drago -”The champion left a clear message”. I concur. B17 segment -Popped for this. It was funny but sympathetic at the same time. Cort Marshall segment -I loved this promo. This shit was money. Main Event: Wrex vs. Aries -This felt like a real main event. The match was really awesome. The in-ring work was just really, really solid. The commentary really put the presentation over the top. It was a wonderful mix of calls and color. The segment at the end really felt like a big deal. Simple story really, but the best often are. Overall impression: This was a really great show. I was very impressed with the quality and consistency. There were a lot of really cool surprises. Great production. Go team!
  8. I appreciate your feedback. Honestly, I'm not completely on the same page about the tights thing (although I don't disagree, tbh). It was something I really liked and it immediately matched with my tag team partner's tights. Also, as far as OCW goes, who is the Velveteen Dream? But still, point well taken, but in the case of Keith I'm not sure the comparisons are avoidable. I believe B17 was sick the night before we submitted, may explain some of the editing stuff. I loved the outcome of the match because it felt different (although not hearing the count sucks). I'm glad you enjoyed the promo. I really appreciate the thoroughness of your review. I wanted to take the time to respond.
  9. I feel you. Thanks for the feedback. It's inspired by Beat Club, this old psychedelic German tv show. It's way too much by design. But then again, the effects are supposed to change a little each time. Maybe next time they won't be so overwhelming for you. But I appreciate you taking the time to say something.
